It’s the most wonderful time of the year…. No not Christmas (well yes) but its ENGAGEMENT SEASON! Who doesn’t love the beginning of a good love story?
Are you stuck and trying to figure out the best way to ask your love to marry you? You’re not alone! So, you’ve come to the right place! Its getting colder and Christmas is just around the corner so I’ve come up with 3 winter proposal ideas!
- Snow – If you can get it, BRAVE THE COLD.
It’s no secret that snow is cold but its BEAUTIFUL for proposals (and for photos). Now this one is hard to plan, unless you live in one of those midwest Hallmark towns where it always snows on Christmas and there’s a tree lot on every corner, you’re going to just have to hope it snows. There’s just something about a cold proposal in the snow that just says happily ever after. If you already have a plan but it snows, move up your timeline and go for it!
2. Cozy up by the fire
How does that song go again? Oh the weather outside is frightful but the fire is so….
That’s right!! Whether it’s a campfire outside or a fireplace at a mountain getaway inside, a fire is romantic. Put on some cozy sweaters (don’t forget the blanket), get the fire going, cozy up with some hot chocolate and get down on one knee.
3. Tis The Season
Who doesn’t love a Christmas engagement? Christmas tree farms, cutting down a tree together and popping the questions. Go ice skating and tie the ring on her skate before she gets them. Saving the best for last (maybe) take a horse drawn carriage ride through town (call it a sleigh ride and it will be more magical) and pop the question. The possibilities for this could be endless!
Now that you’ve got your idea on how you are going to ask the love of your life to marry you, there are a few extra things you might need to bring along with you to give it that extra magical touch.
- Blanket: Whether on a carriage ride or inside by the fire, blankets make it cozy
- Hot chocolate: throw in some cute mugs and you’re set
- Hire a photographer to document the proposal: YES. I do this. I help plan, I scheme on how to make it a big surprise and then I hide until the perfect moment.
- Get a fancy ring box: Fancy ring boxes are an extra special touch to say, I love you forever.
I hope this helps get your creativity flowing on how you will propose to the love of your life! If you need any additional help, you can email me! If all else fails pop onto the Hallmark channel and watch a few Hallmark Christmas movies, you’ll get some good ideas there as well!
Cheers,
Scott
